Dear reader I just finished reading “Oath Bound” by Rachel Vincent, Here are my personal thoughts on it Warning spoilers ahead:
I didn’t like this book as I did the first 2 in the series, it just didn’t have the same pull to me.
The relationship between “Kris” and “Sera” felt forced to me. The ending when “Sera” found out that her biological dad’s wife was the one who really had her family killed to protect her children’s inheritance felt too obvious of a plot line to me.
Also having the lady die so that “Kris” and “Sera” could raise her step-brother and sister as their own since “Sera” can’t have her own kids felt weird to me because they are still her brother and sister. Not that I’m trying to say she shouldn’t care for her brother and sister because I am not. The “Happy ending” just felt too neat to me.
I am also still reading: “The Cuckoo’s calling” I am currently on page 169.
“Trapped( book 5 of the Iron Druid Chronicles)” I am currently on page 63.
“Dragon Age: Asunder” I am currently on page 246.
I also just bought “Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell” last night because the synopsis of the book sounded interesting I am currently on page 8.
Yes I know dear reader books are my addiction: ).
I hate endings that are too good to be true, too. Though sometimes, while reading, I am like “I hope they get back together…I hope they do this or that” but most times I’m dissapointed when there is no shock factor.
I like happy endings that make sense and feel real, this one just seem to fall into place too easily to me.
