Dear reader the following post is NOT meant to make people feel sorry for me it’s about me trying to show you what life is like for me so maybe you will appreciate the fact that you’re legs work a bit more. I speak for no other other than myself.
Ok, Dear reader let’s pretend you are in my shoes to hopefully help you have a better idea of what disabled people deal with. In most cases our care only gets better on the kindness of people who can walk.
You wake up and you have to pee you know that you are still in the hotel room you shared with your dad at the casino.
You see that your dad’s bed is empty, you know that he likes to gamble some while you sleep so you assume that’s what he is up to.
You reach around your bed hoping to find your phone to call him when you notice your phone is still changing on the table by the TV across the room.
You reach to see if you can reach the hotel room phone by yourself you find you can however you worry that you’re dad maybe mad if he is charged by the hotel for the call so you turn on the TV(You find the remote at your side) to try to take your mind off the fact you need to use the bathroom room hoping your dad will come before you pee the bed.
You look around the room again and see on the floor that your dad left his shoes by the bed so you know he may be the bathroom.
You call out to him again and and after about 15 minutes he finally hears you and helps you use the bathroom.
This really happened to me dear reader on Wednesday morning. I hope this will help you be a little more thankful for your legs and to have a bit more kindness for people with disabilities:).
