Dear reader I just finished reading “The Traitor’s wife: The Woman behind Benedict Arnold and the plan to betray America.” By Allison Pataki. My personal review of the book is as follows:
Dear reader I didn’t really enjoy the book at all, my favorite part was “Clara”(the maid) finding love with “Cal”(Stable boy/soldier). Peggy Arnold was a bitch end of story, to me there wasn’t a likeable quality about her at all(at least not the way this book portrays her).
I personally rate this book a 2/10(for the love story of Clara and Cal).
Happy reading dear reader: ).
PS. Did you notice dear reader that the birth of the son was not talk about at all, she is pregnant then magically the baby is asleep. I know birth was a taboo subject at the time, but still it’s a book even saying she had a hard labor would have made it more real in my personal opinion.
