Dear reader I just finished reading “I know why the caged bird sings” by Dr. Maya Angelou. My personal review of the book is as follows:

Dear reader I want to start by saying that I have respect for Dr. Maya Angelou and for what she accomplished in her lifetime, the following is only my thoughts on the book, no more no less.

I read the book in about 3 days. I really enjoyed the vivid wording, however the rape scenes were hard to read.

I am just being honest when I say I don’t understand her motivation(at least how it was portrayed in the book) for how/why she picked the guy she had sex with(the father of her son).

I personally rate this book a 4/10.
