I just finished reading “That Summer in Sicily:A love story”.

Dear reader my legs won’t let me sleep(darn you CP)yet again, so I stayed up and finished reading “That Summer in Sicily: A love story” by Marlena De Blasi. My personal review of the book is as follows:

Dear reader I want to start of the review by saying that I am normally not one to put much stock into background descriptions in books(I.E. how a place looks and the like).

I am more interested in the story and the people(Yes I know some background information on the place setting is needed) I don’t normally “see” a place or people in my mind when I read about them, however for me this book read like a painting in some places where I couldn’t help but “see” the place and feel as if I was watching the story unfold from somewhere in the scene.

As for the story itself I didn’t really get into until “Tosca” tells her story, she just didn’t let me go until the end.

I still wonder how her story ended, as the book ends at her lovers end and not her own.

I don’t really want to say more about the story because I don’t want to give anything away.

I personally rate this book an 8/10.
Happy reading dear reader: ).

Tell me what you think.
