Dear reader I just finished reading “Fireborn” book 1 in the “Souls of Fire” series by Keri Arthur. My personal review of the book is as follows:

Dear reader I tried really hard to like this book, however the plot and characters just didn’t grab me for some reason.

I haven’t read a book in a long time where pretty much during the whole time I was reading it I was begging inside for the story to “pull me in”.

For the second half of the book I was hoping for a bit of plot pay off instead of what personally felt to me like pure book set up(Yes, I know it’s the first book in the series and some would set up is to be expected).

I know this is giving a bit away and I am sorry, it felt to me like most of the book was just a set up to two of the main characters becoming business partners.

The following is me paraphrasing:

“Yeah we  escaped the bad guys we are safely back at our home base, wanna be business partners? Yes.”

I personally rate this book a 2/10.
