Dear reader I can’t sleep so I finished reading “The American Heiress” by Daisy Goodwin. My personal review of the book is as follows:

Dear reader I want to start by saying that my grandma on my mother’s side is from England she came to the US when she was 17 so everything English kind of fascinates me.

I also enjoy watching “Downton Abbey”(I am NOT saying that the writing of this book compares to that of “Downton Abbey”) which is also similar in theme to this book.

I don’t want to give the story away so I will only add that for better or worse I understand “Cora’s” choice at the end of the novel.

Sometimes you just want to believe the best in the person(s) you love even if they don’t deserve it(based on their repeated behavior).

I personally rate this book a 5/10. Happy reading dear reader: ).

PS. I would have liked to have “seen” “Cora’s” maid get her well deserved happy ending as well.
