Dear reader I was just watching the newest episode of “Downton Abbey” on my DVR and I really liked something that the “Dowager countess” said to “Lady Marry” so I thought I would post it here:

“An absence of compassion can be just as vulgar as an over use of tears.”

Dear reader my mom’s mother came to the USA from England when she was 17 and she hated shows of emotions so this quote made me think of her.
