Note to reader: I know I behind on these. I am physically disabled(CP, Cerebral Palsy) so type this up is a bit difficult for me however I have all of the tournament episodes saved on my DVR so I will get to them in time also I am just a fan doing this for fun. Any and all mistakes in this review are my own.
Also I haven’t seen any of the tournament episodes before so I am watching them for the first time as I review them.
Dear reader I am excited to see the crazyness that’s about to happen:
The chef’s for this episode are: Chef Mathew(I think he is pretty cute dear reader), chef Robert, chef Morgan, and chef Tom.
Round #1: Fish Stew(In case you are curious dear reader I am NOT a fish person so this round will probably gross me out).
First item up for auction up for auction is to force all of your opponent to cook their dish in a canoe. Chef Mathew wins the canoe for $4,500.
Second item of for auction is to force one chef to swap out all of their items in their basket for whatever items that the are able to “catch” out of a kiddie pool using a fishing pole (most of the items are sealed up in FoodSaver like plastic bags there are a few can goods in the pool as well). Chef Mathew wins again for 8,100 and gives the fishing pole to chef Robert.
Chef Tom using the food processor to prep his vegetables is in my personal opinion very smart.
Omg dear reader Alton just came out with a bit fishing net with all kinds of stuff stuck in it and who ever wins it can force one opponent to carry it around with them for the remainder of the round. Chef Robert wins it for $5,000 and he gives it of course to chef Matthew. This should be interesting dear reader :). This is only round 1 how much more cray can it get?
I have to admit that I literally laughed out loud at chef Matthew falling on the floor.
The judge for this episode is Antonia Lofaso.
The judge told chef Matthew that she didn’t think that his dish was a Stew because she couldn’t eat it with a spoon and she needed a fork to eat it.
The judge told chef Robert that his halibut was over cooked.
The judge told chef Morgan that her dish needs more seasoning. I personally think that the judge seems to dislike her dish the most so far.
The judge told chef Tom that his dish was “a tad over cooked” however everything else she said was really positive, I think his dish might have been her favorite for this round.
Chef Morgan was eliminated.
Round #2: pasta carbonara(sounds yummy dear reader, my Italian side is showing lol).
First item up for auction is to force one opponent to swap out all of their eggs for a plate of huevos Ranchero.
Omg dear reader chef Matthew asked Alton if the eggs were runny(not all of the way mixed with the sauce yet) so Alton just took a fork and made them runny, foot meet mouth lol. I bet chef Matthew doesn’t feel so smart about his question now. Chef Robert wins with $5,000 he gives the dish to chef Matthew.
Omg dear reader Alton just came out onto the stage while riding in a Cole miner’s cart, complete hard hat (He is wearing one), with track and tunnel opening(Picture an episode of “Looney Tunes” and you’ll get what I mean). You know this is probably going to be really crazy.
Ok dear reader I am probably going to explain this wrong so please bear with me:
The winner of this auction forces one of his opponents to spend the rest of the challenge cooking in the mining cart and they will have to use the mining tools found inside of the cart as their only cooking utensils as well as the fact that they will have to move in between areas using the cart and the track. This is going to be so interesting to watch dear reader… *Insert evil laugh here*. Mathew wins the auction with a bid of $8,100 and of course gives the mining cart challenge to chef Robert.
Chef Tom doesn’t have any sabotages at this point in the round.
The judge told chef Matthew that his dish needs more egg.
The judge told chef Tom that his dish needs more black pepper.
The judge told chef Robert that his pasta was just a little too hard. I really think chef Matthew might be going home this round dear reader.
Dear reader Chef Robert was eliminated this round for his pasta being too hard. Now it’s down to chef Matthew and chef Tom. I think chef Tom will win dear reader.
Round #3: Pound Cake.
Auction item number #1 for this round is a chemistry set. The winner of this auction forces his opponent to give up all of their cooking utensils and heat sources from whatever they can use/find in the chemistry set. Chef Tom wins the auction with a bid of $4,400(which is the total amount of money that chef Matthew currently has left). It’s nice to see chef Matthew get a little bit of karma back.
Auction item number #2 is a boxing glove. The winner of this auction forces their opponent to wear the glove on his dominant hand for the remainder of the challenge.
Chef Tom wins the auction again. This is fun to watch.
The judge tells chef Tom that his cake is too sweet.
The judge gave Alton her whiskey from chef Matthew ‘ s dish. She seems to really like his dish.
Omg dear reader this has got to be the biggest upset/under dog win I have ever seen in a tv show cooking competition chef Matthew won. Ever with all of his sabotages, he takes home $4,400 and he wins a spot in the finale.
