Dear reader I just finished reading “Owl and the City of Angels” by Kristi Charish. I received an advanced ebook arc copy for free from NetGally for an honest review(I got this opportunity by hearing about the author wanting to do a blog tour so I contacted her via her Facebook page and sent my information about me and this blog, thanks again dear reader for giving me this opportunity with your likes, views, and follows).
Dear reader so much of what I want to say about this book is spoilers so I will try to put it in another way.
The majority of the first half of the book reminds me of a thief with a sack of treasures over their shoulder stepping into one trap after another.
Towards the middle of the book things start to pick up with some really well written character development. Some of the mechanics of what was physically going on in the plot confused me (I want to say more about it to explain it however I feel like it’s a big spoiler).
At the end of the book(not counting the epilogue) it felt to me personally like the ending of a series when the author throws the “kitchen sink” at the main character as well as any “bad guys” from the character’s past.
When you get to the epilogue in my personal opinion you see that this book is closing one chapter of the characters life and starting a new one, Yes dear reader I know that it’s only book two in the series however I still feel like it’s about “Owl” finally growing up a bit and talking charge of what she wants from her life instead of running away from her problems and letting people push her around. I am excited to see what happens to “Owl” and the crew next.
Overall I personally rate this book a 6/10. Happy reading dear reader :).
