Dear reader I just got back from the movies my dad and I watched “The Martian” in 3D. My personal thoughts about the movie are as follows:

I think that it really does the book justice(if you want to read my personal review of the book check it out in the “Books” tab of my blog), which in my personal opinion is very awesome and rare for movies based on books.

I think that Matt Damon was very convincing as “Watney”. I also was ok with the changes that the movie makes from the book.

My dad who hasn’t read the book really enjoyed it from start to finish.

My personal favorite part of the movie was when “Watney” was listening to the song “Hot Stuff” as he was driving in the rover.

I personally rate this movie an 8/10. I personally thought it was a little bit rushed in some parts and I wanted more of “Watney” personality to come through. I definitely recommend going to see it.

The 3D wasn’t really that much of a big deal so you could probably still have a good experience with just seeing it in normal movie format, unless you are able to see it in Imax which I personally think would be amazing given the cinematic views.
