Is it possible to mourn yourself? (My personal thoughts on “Mr Holmes” the movie)

Note to reader: The following post is ONLY about me talking about my own personal thoughts/feelings about this movie. Also if you haven’t already seen the movie yet don’t read this post if you don’t want spoilers.

Dear reader my dad rented “Mr Holmes” from redbox for me to watch. My personal review of the movie is as follows:

First things first I personally think that this movie at is at it’s core is about “Mr Holmes” mourning himself and his life.

Not in a “I am feeling sorry for myself” sort of way but in a reflective sort of way. It makes me wonder if it’s possible to mourn yourself.

I have always wondered about how I would feel whenever I die, if I feel anything at all.

I think it’s because of my CP(Cerebral Palsy) that I think about it so much. I read books and see how the characters handle being old/getting older looking for ways to handle my life and fears better, I think that some of the ways “Mr Holmes” handles himself in this movie will help me as well.

Saying goodbye to everyone who love is important even to yourself.

I am NOT trying to say that I am dying yet (anymore than anyone else is) I am just saying that this movie eased my fears just a little.

If you’re a fan of Laurel R. King’s books about “Mr. Holmes” and his wife I think that you might enjoy this movie as well.

Overall I personally rate this movie a 7/10. I wish that “Rodger” was in it more.

Tell me what you think.
