Mini Rant: All of my Book Reviews are My honest Opinion(10/27/16)

Note to reader: The following post is only about me venting about my own personal feelings and thoughts about this situation nothing more nothing less.

Dear reader over the last few months I’ve had to turn down/been turned down for book reviews because of the fact that I am honest about how I personally feel about the book. I always tell the author/publisher upfront that I will be honest you guys/My review and say if I dislike the book/a particular part of it. If they disagree with me doing so I tell them thank you for their time and that’s the end of it.

Saying this is NOT to say that I want you or anyone else to feel sorry for me because of it, it’s also not really where my frustration with the situation is because

1.There are so many other books out there that I can read/get approved for.

2. If I don’t get approved to read the book as a review and I really want to read it I will buy the book myself(which I have done in the past).

3. I buy books to read because I love reading the review process is a separate thing and as such I have a lot of books so I am as yet not totally dependent upon getting reviews in order to read (I am still thankful for every single review opopportunity that I receive).
My personal frustration with the situation is because I have had some people on GoodReads say that they don’t trust my review(s) because of the fact that I got the book as a review from an author/publisher (Which is totally their right to do).

I really, really do value my honesty with you dear reader and in my reviews as well as in my everyday life(as much as possible everyone lies sometimes).

In my personal opinion dear reader my book reviews aren’t ads for the book (Yes I understand why someone might see them that way) they are me telling you guys how I personally feel about the book and my experience with reading it.

I don’t think that I have ever said that you guys should buy a book just because of the fact that I like it (Patrick Rothfuss’s books are an exception because they are awesome)

If I don’t like a book or a particular part of one that’s just me. You still might love it.

When NetGalley had the option to just privately post a note to the publisher/author if I really disliked a book I would do that instead of telling you guys about the book at all/posting anything about the book on any of my social media, Even in my harshest reviews I am NOT trying to destroy the book I am just being honest with you about my opinion with the book.

At the end of the day I have to be able to look at myself in the mirror and like the person that I see staring back at me and the only way that I can do that is to be honest and I know that most of the people who read my reviews appreciate it.

Thanks again so much for staying on this journey with me your support means more to me than I can ever truly explain or thank you for dear reader ♡.

Tell me what you think.
