Book Review: Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies #1)

Dear reader I just finished reading “Warm Bodies” by Isaac Marion. I picked up a soft-cover copy of the book from (I paid for it myself) because I love the movie version of it and I wanted see how the book differented and because I saw on Goodreads that a 2nd book is out and I wanted to be caught up with everything before I read it.

My personal review of the book is as follows:

I loved the writing style of the book(even if to be completely honest some things went over my head) I felt like I was right there in the world with the characters; Sometimes I felt like (in my personal opinion) there were some continuity issues(having to do with timing, I.E. when the story was taking place, and for lack of a better word for it how the “magic” of the world affected the zombies[how/why they did certain things]) that would take me out of the story for a minute, the characters did a great job of pulling me back in.

Around page 160 the storyline started to make sense to me personally again after being confusing because of plot/perspective changes. I also became a little bit frustrated by the pacing of the last half of the book.

I feel like the scene with “R” “Julie” and “Pery’s” handmade book was really beautiful and summed up nicely (in my personal opinion) the hope/promise of humanity/life as a whole. Overall I personally rate this book a 6 and a half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader ?. Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get approved by Netgally and other places for future books ♡
