Book Review: Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter

Dear reader I just finished reading “Vassa in the Night” by Sarah Porter. I picked up a hardcover copy of the book from http://Bookoutlet.com (I paid for it myself) because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I loved the writing style and details of the book, I personally saw a few parallels to the “October Daye” series by Seanan McGuire(how the convenience store acted reminded me of how fairy knowes can sometimes act in the “October Daye” series) I feel like if you are a fan of the series then you’ll probably enjoy this book as well.

“Erg” is probably one of my favorite characters that I’ve read about recently. In my personal opinion “Vassa’s” dad is a jeark. One of my favorite parts of the book is the (for the lack of a better way of phrasing it) the “snow” scene around page 142 (of my hardcover copy) it was so magical.

The last half of book kind of confused me because of how the magic/mythology of the world of the book. My heart broke at the end for “Vassa” even though I’m happy for her that she got to understand/love herself at the end, which is in my personal opinion what the main moral of the story itself is about. Overall I personally rate this book a 7 and a half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader ?.  Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get approved by Netgally and other places for future books ♡.
