Dear reader I just finished reading “Everything Everything” by Nicola Yoon. I picked up a hardcover copy of the book from http://www.Bookoutlet.com (I paid for it myself) because I had been hearing a lot about it lately. My personal review of the book is as follows:
Because of the fact that I stay home/in bed and lot because of my CP(Cerebral Palsy) I related to a lot of how “Maddy” felt towards the things that she wasn’t able to do. I’m also very close with my dad (because he has had to help me so much physically) like Maddy is with her mother.
For everything after approximately page 167(In my hardcover edition) I personally had to suspend my disbelief even more(I can’t really explain why without giving away pretty much the last half of the book)
After page 167 it felt to me personally as though the storyline went into movie mode (I am aware that a movie based upon the book is coming out soon), I’m not trying to say that this is a bad thing it just kind of (For lack of a better way of phrasing it) “threw” me out of the story for a second because for me personally the actions didn’t really fit within the prior flow of book, I know that this might seem crazy but it felt like I went from reading Maddy’s story as a character from a book then the action happens and my mind jumps into seeing her story unfold as a character in a movie As in that would only work out in the movies.
Having said all of that I really enjoyed the formatting of the book in regards to how it’s formated to seem as if it’s Maddy’s journal(with drawings etc etc).
Regarding the ending of the book I personally feel badly for Maddy’s mom, I don’t agree with her choices however I can understand the appeal of as well as the emotions behind theme. As for Maddy I hope that we can see more of her in future books, I personally also wish that Ollie would’ve been a bit more fleshed out; Overall I personally rate this book a 6 and a half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader ?. Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get approved by authors/publishers for future books ♡.
