Book Review: The Girl of Fire and Thorns: Rae Carson.

Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “The Girl of Fire and Thorns” book number one in “The Girl of Fire and Thorns Thorns” series by Rae Carson. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it was on sale and because I loved the “Gold Seer” trilogy which is also by Rae Carson(my personal reviews of those books can be found here in the “book review” tab if you want to check them out) my personal review of the book is as follows:

It was hard for me personally to get into the story because I didn’t like how the main character(in my personal opinion) was almost always down on herself about her weight and looks. Towards about the start of the middle of the book I started to feel like the main character wasn’t a good fit for the storyline(I can’t really explain why without giving away major plot points).

Around the early middle half of the book(in my personal opinion) details regarding how/why certain things were happening as well as how the magic works really started to become muddled and twisted  (in my personal opinion) however the ending made up for it and makes me want to download the next book in the series to see how everything turns out. As a side note I feel like at times the main character’s age didn’t (in my personal opinion) match/make sense with her choices  (she came off 17/18 early twenties to me).

Overall I personally rate this book a 5 out of 10 mostly because of how much enjoyed the ending and the main character’s (in my personal opinion) character growth especially when she realized it herself in the story. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get considered by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💙.
