Dear reader I just finished reading “Artemis” by Andy Weir. I picked up this book in hardcover edition when my dad took me to our local Barnes and Noble. My personal review of the book is as follows:
I personally wish that the main character’s motivations were a bit more fleshed out than just “I want to be rich”, around page 111 we get a bit deeper into why however in my personal opinion it wasn’t enough to feel realistic especially for all of trouble that she gets into and out of.
I also found some plot points in the last few chapters that(in my personal opinion) felt a bit too convenient for my personal tastes. I don’t really know how to fully explain this without possibly giving away an important plot point however I still want to say that I personally found the discussion around age of consent laws to be very odd, I personally think that the author could have used a different plot development to get the same goal without needing to bring up that discussion(in my personal opinion).
The ending of the book reads like it could be a series so I would be interested to see how the storyline continues. Overall I personally rate this book a 5 out of 10. Happy reading dear reader ☺.
