Book Review: The Queen’s Rising: Rebecca Ross

Dear reader I just finished reading The Queen’s Rising book #1 in an as yet untitled series by Rebecca Ross. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I really enjoyed the writing style, the characters, the atmospheric world building, and the main storyline. The only thing that pulled me personally out of the storyline (at times) was me being confused with how the magic works both in regards to the main character and within the world it’s self.

I personally felt like the way(for lack of a better way of phrasing it, without giving away plot points) fate works within the framework of main storyline, it just felt really heavy-handed to me personally, I didn’t fully understand the motivations behind the majority of the main character’s choices in regards to her family especially given how the conflict was set up in the beginning of the story.

I am looking forward to seeing where things go next within the world and for the characters whenever the next book in the series come out.

I think that if you liked “Three Dark Crowns” then you’ll probably enjoy this book. Overall I personally rate this book a 7 and half out 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊.  Please like and share this review if you enjoy it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💖.
