Book Review: Magonia: Maria Dahvana Headley

Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “Magonia” book number one in the “Magonia” series by Maria Dahvana Headley. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I had heard about it, the synopsis seemed interesting and it was on sale for $1.99. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I really enjoyed and personally related to “Aza’s” way of dealing having a disorder in the first half especially since I have Cerebral Palsy I can’t really talk about the rest of my personal feelings about how her being sick was dealt with at the end of the first half without giving away the main plot twist however I will say that I was a bit annoyed with it even though I know why it was necessary for second half of the book. Side note though is it ever okay for a character to be sick/disabled and still kick butt at the sane time?

The setting, world, mythology, and magic system was definitely unique in my personal opinion even though I was personally confused how certain elements worked. The last half/the ending of the book(and I know that I might be phrasing it in a weird way) felt like was the ending of the second book in the series instead of the end of the first. Overall I personally rate this book a 6 and a half out 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
