Book Review: Sugar Queen: Sarah Addison Allen

Dear reader I just finished reading “Sugar Queen” by Sarah Addison Allen. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it seemed interesting and it was on sale for $1.99. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I really enjoyed the(in my personal opinion) vivid writing style, to the point where it felt as if I could almost taste some of the food like items mentioned. I like the characters(especially all of the references to books/reading), I just personally wish that there could’ve been less characters (maybe add them into a novella/second book) so that the storyline could’ve been more focused on the main character(s).

In my personal opinion from about the middle of the book onwards it felt like the storyline was becoming more about the dynamics within the town it’s self and some of the bigger character developments (info about their background) felt like it wasn’t really explored. Overall I personally rate this book a 5 and half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 💜. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews ❤.
