Dear reader I just finished reading “Carnival of Souls” book number one in the “Untamed City” series by Melissa Marr. My uncle Timmy gave me a hardcover copy of the book. My personal review of the book is as follows:

The world/concept of the storyline reminded me a lot of how demons were described/delt with in the original “Charmed” TV show. I found the characters to be interesting especially “Aya” with her not wanting to have kids, for me personally that’s something that I have rarely seen in characters portrayed within fiction.

Some of the plot points felt a bit predictable/ convenient for my personal tastes. I do definitely feel like if you are a fan storylines that feature demons then I think that you’ll like this book. Overall I personally rate this book a 5 out of 10(the way that demons see women in the book got on my nerves).
