Book Review: Heart of Thorns: Bree Barton.

Dear reader I just finished reading “Heart of Thorns” book number one in the “Heart of Thorns” series by Bree Barton. I picked up this book in hardcover edition from Barnes and Noble when I went to the store with my dad. My personal review of the book is as follows:

For me personally the storyline reminded me of the part of “The Princess Bride” when “Buttercup” was about to marry the other guy(I can’t remember his name) and what it would have been like if she had magic and she got away from him by herself mixed in with parts that felt to me to like a dark fairytale(it made me think of “Little Red Riddinghood” and “Show White” at times”.)

Then the storyline would talk about love and what women in general as a group have dealt with over time from men, I personally wish that those parts would’ve been made into their own separate book because(to me personally) it seemed like they would pop up in the middle of the plot moving forward, it felt like the author would stop the story to talk about them without ever really going back to where the plot point was to finish it so things(in my personal opinion) got dropped a lot.

At it’s core I personally believe that this story is about learning to open your heart and trust your judgement after the death of a parent or close loved one. This story felt like it was a stand alone to me, I’m a little bit annoyed that it’s going to be a series now (I can’t really explain why without giving the ending).

Overall I personally rate this book a 3 out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews ❤.
