Book Review: The Dire King: William Ritter

Dear reader I just finished reading “The Dire King” book number four in the “Jackaby” series by William Ritter. I picked it up in hardcover edition from Amazon(I paid for it myself) because I had to know how everything ends. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I really enjoyed the first half of the book, from about the middle of the book till the end I personally was confused. I feel like certain background information on one of the main characters (I can’t really say what it is because it is spoiler info for the earlier books in the series) was interesting and I really wish that it could’ve been expanded upon more within its own novella, however it can’t be done because of the way the story ends.

Then we would get back to the main plot line of the book some more information was told then a villain was introduced then the storyline would kinda(for lack of a better way of phrasing it) pause for a few pages then from there it went straight into action without(in my personal opinion) explaining more about what was happening. I personally wish that the ending as well as certain things leading  up to it would have been made into their own separate book so that things could’ve been better explained and we as readers could have gotten more time to process(in my personal opinion) major plot events so that they could have had more emotional impact.

I am thankful that “Jackaby” got a happy ending and “Abigail” found herself. Overall I personally rate this book a 6 out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
