Book Review: The Strange Case of the Alchemist Daughter: Theodora Goss

Dear reader I just finished reading “The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter” book number one in the “Extraordinary Advertures of the Athena Club” series by Theodora Goss. I picked up this book in soft-cover edition from Barnes and Noble when I went to my local store with my dad. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I personally found the concept of the book as well as the characters(for the most part) to be interesting, however the writing style and narrative style (the back and forth between each character’s storyline as well as the narrator added comments to the reader/commentary on the story itself) confused me and eventually made me lose all of my interest in the story arc as well as removing almost all of my personal enjoyment of the characters.

I personally kept reading after my confusion about some(in my personal opinion) plot holes(I don’t understand how plotline points added together to take the storyline/characters where they eventually end up). I personally read the book as a stand alone from about the middle of the book onwards because I knew that I wasn’t going to continue the series, however I still wanted to see how this book ended.Overall I personally rate this book a 3 out 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
