Book Review: Knight’s Shadow: Sebastien De Castell

Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “Knight’s Shadow” book number two in the “Greatcoats” series by Sebastien De Castell. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I had to know what happens next. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I don’t think that a story has ever pulled my heart apart and put it back together so many times; I had to keep putting my Nook down or changing to a different book for awhile(and then go back to it) because the scenes/plot points were either too intense or graphic(at times both) or they were making me feel too much. I can’t give you an example of one of them because(in my personal opinion) they are all spoilers in one way or another. The character development and growth(throughout the span of the storyline) in my personal opinion was awesome.

In my personal opinion this storyline at it’s core is about coming to terms with who you are and where you stand as your own person after you find out that you’re beliefs and childhood heroes don’t always come up even with your real life experiences. Especially when you finally come to terms with the fact that it’s ok for both yourself and your childhood heroes to be flawed human beings because in my personal opinion everyone has flaws.

As for the political drama between the leaders of the world the story takes place within kind of confused me personally especially towards the end of book. It felt like the storyline was building up to something that at the last minute got changed to a plan from the characters to do something different which felt to me personally kind of like a let down however I will have to see what happens in the next book in the series to say for sure how I feel about it. Overall I personally rate this book a 7 and half out of 10. I will of course be downloading the next book in the series from the Nook store on my tablet after I’ve finished posting this review because I have to know what happens next. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
