Book Review: The City of Lost Fortunes: Bryan Camp

Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “The City of Lost Fortunes” book number one in the “Crescent City” series by Bryan Camp. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:

This book reads(in my personal opinion) as if it’s the 3rd book in a series instead of the first book because of all the backstory that’s told as already have happened to the main character before the start of the book which did confuse for a bit and made me not feel as much of an emotional pull  for things that happen to “Jude” if I would’ve if I would’ve gotten to know him a bit more before hand.

I can’t really say anything about what happens because everything in a spoiler in some way for something else that happens later on in the book, except that if you’re a fan “Trickster” characters then you’ll definitely want to check out this book.

I respect “Jude” and his fighting for his life/”playing his hand” as he sees fit. Also him coming into his own. If you’re a fan of stories set in New Orleans I highly recommend giving this book a shot because it really made me feel like I was in the city with the characters. Overall I personally rate this book 7 out 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊.  Please like and share this review if you liked it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
