Book Review: Mage Against the Machine: Shaun Barger

Dear reader I just finished reading “Mage Against the Machine” by Shaun Barger.

I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I personally feel like this story as a whole would’ve been easier to understand if the first half of it would’ve been the first book in the series; it felt to me personally like so many things were packed into this book that I couldn’t really fully understand/pull for the characters until around the middle of the book once I saw how the first plotline went into the second one (how the two main characters stories fit together within the framework of the overall arc of the storyline).

I found it interesting how the author worked it out however I got confused again once the characters would get stuck in something that seemed as if there was no way out/had the feeling of a cliffhanger at the end of a book then time and time again they would somehow get saved and it felt like important plot points would be forgotten about no matter how many times it was said that they were extremely important.

I do feel like this story would make an amazing basis for a TV show. I personally feel like if you like magic mixed with futuristic stuff you might want to check out this book.

Overall because of how unique I personally found the concept of the story to be as well as how interesting the characters were I personally rate this book a 6 out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊.  Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
