Book Review: Snow Like Ashes: Sara Raasch

Dear reader I just finished reading “Snow Like Ashes” book number one in the “Snow Like Ashes” series by Sara Raasch. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it seemed interesting and it was on sale for $1.99. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I personally found the main character to be relatable and realistic; I enjoyed rooting for her even though I personally didn’t understand some of her choices and how she seemed to switch her affections easily.

As for the overall main plotline in my personal opinion it seemed to skip over things that(I personally felt) were plot holes easily(I.E. never mind about this really big problem a bigger “bad guy” just showed up that we both have to fight so it doesn’t matter). The magic of the world wasn’t very well explained(I understand that this could be fixed in the next book in the series). As well as the fact that the majority of the male characters blended into each other so I had a hard time switching between them and caring about them on an individual level this in addition to the aforementioned issues I personally had with the plot holes really brought down my personal enjoyment of the book.

I do feel like this story felt like a mix between the “Red Queen” series by Victoria Aveyard and “Ever The Hunted” by Erin Summerill. I think that if you liked either one of those books you might want to check out the synopsis of this book and see if you would like it. Overall I personally rate this book a 4 and half out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
