Dear reader I just finished reading “Prisoners in the Palace” by Michaela MacColl. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it seemed interesting and it was on sale for $1.99. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I fell in love with the characters almost instantly(except for Sir John of course) and was rooting for them. My personal favorite character was “Inside Boy”. I loved the setting and I personally found the majority of the book to be fairly realistic(in so far as it’s fictionalized) except for the ending(getting away from the “bad guy”).

I wish that we as readers could have a sequel to see what happens next in the lives of the characters especially “Liz” growing into her love story(trying to avoid spoilers), “Victoria” as Queen and of course the further adventures of “Inside Boy”. I definitely recommend reading it this book if you enjoy books set in the same time period. Overall I personally rate this book a 7 and half out 10.
