Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “The Belles” book number one in “The Belles” series by Dhonielle Clayton. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I had heard a lot about it and because it was on sale in the Nook store on my tablet. My personal review of the book is as follows:
I enjoyed the main character even though as the story went on I personally understood some of her choices less and less. I found the magic of the world that the story is set to be compelling and interesting(it does get a bit repetitive after a while and I felt as if certain aspects of it that seemed as if they could’ve been useful to the main character in certain situations seemed to be in my personal opinion forgotten about or ignored for the sake of adding more drama or tension except for the part of the plot where a certain power had to be used; trying to phrase it in a way to avoid spoilers) to keep the story going and make the ending possible.
I was really starting to pull for the Belles as a whole from about the end of the first half of the book to about the second chapter of the middle of the book then the storyline started to get really intense for me personally(again trying to avoid spoilers) however I still kept reading because I wanted to see how it ended, I know that it’s the first book in the series however because of events that took place in the last half of the book I personally won’t be continuing on with the series(again it just feels too intense for me personally).
I do feel like if you enjoyed “Glitter” by Aprilynne Pike then you’ll more than likely enjoy this book as well because it gave me a lot of the same feelings as this book. Overall I personally rate this book 5 out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
