Book Review: The Best Bad Things: Katrina Carrasco

Dear reader I just finished reading “The Best Bad Things” by Katrina Carrasco.

I picked up this book in hardcover edition from Barnes and Noble when I went to my local store because it seemed interesting and I personally really enjoy reading books set within this time period; My personal review of the book is as follows:

I enjoyed “Alma”(especially her determination to be herself no matter what society would think of her doing so), it kept me turning pages because I couldn’t “pin down” which side of “good guy/bad guy” fence she was on (phrasing it this way to avoid spoilers).

I enjoyed the fact that we as readers could see backstory & background of both characters and the main situation that the story revolves around so that even though the book is stand alone the world didn’t feel like it just started when you started reading.

The ending made me wish for more. I definitely recommend checking out this book if you’re a fan stories set within “The Old West” time period especially if you want to read a story set in that time period from the perspective of a woman who isn’t afraid to be herself, blur lines/expectations, and go after what she wants.

Overall I personally rate this book a 6 and a half out of 10 (I personally wish that certain plot points could’ve been explained a bit more, I feel like certain sex scenes took up too much time towards the end which could’ve been used to explain more things or to let the storyline tail off with a bit more depth(again trying to avoid spoilers) especially since it’s marketed as being a stand alone novel which means that we as readers won’t get to see what happens next). Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
