Dear reader I just finished reading “Courting Darkness” book number one in the “Courting Darkness” doulogy by Robin LaFevers.

I picked up a hardcover edition of the book from my local Barnes and Noble because wanted to see how the world expanded from the first trilogy. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I was personally confused by the the POV switching at first until around the end of the first half of the story when I started to understand however they all were fitting together within overall arc storyline.

My heart was happy and crushed a few times over by the romantic plotlines(avoiding spoilers),

I feel like a lot of important plot points were pushed into the last half of the book which made them feel rushed through to the point where I was confused by how people ended up where they were then I was at the end of the book. Hopefully in the next book everything will be better explained

I personally recommend checking out the first trilogy if you’re a fan of the TV show “Reign” the series gives me a lot of the same vibes.
