Book Review: Meet Me In Monaco: Hazel Gaynor

Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “Meet Me In Monaco” by Hazel Gaynor. I picked up this book in soft-cover edition from my local Barnes and Noble store(thanks to my Dad for buying it for me) because it seemed interesting and I have read prior books by the author and enjoyed them. My personal review of the book is as follows:

Part of me wishes that Grace would’ve been given her own full book because even though I personally loved James and Sophie’s love story I still felt at times that both stories taking up space within the page count constraints of the book itself stopped the author from giving both stories some of the more depth of detail that they both deserve to have especially in some of tragic parts(to my memory always involving James having to unexpectedly leave Sophie).

As for Grace I feel like we as readers couldn’t really see/enjoy her getting to be a princess(Going from an American actress to a princess would’ve been interesting to see at least a small glimpse of) because we rushed back to James and Sophie(I would’ve love to see a scene or two James getting to actually be a father especially since he spends the entire book talking about how much he wants to spend more time with his daughter and be a part of her life on a consistent basis), I also would’ve personally really loved to see Sophie getting to enjoy her business and see her successful, and of course getting a scene of Sophie and James getting to actually be together beyond the mention of the wedding in the newspaper article.

Overall I think it’s a sweet romance with a “true love always finds a way to be together no matter what” message at it’s heart. Overall I personally rate it a 6 out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊.  Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get approved for future books and helps others to find my reviews ❤.
