Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “An Affair of Poisons” by Addie Thorley. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:

If you enjoy storylines featuring a strong female main character who actually knows how to use and make poison and it’s actually shown within the book(in my personal experience a lot of stories that talk about a female poisoner rarely if ever show the character actually making the poison or knowing how it works) then I highly recommend giving this book a chance.

I personally enjoyed the setting and plotline of the story(even if at times in my personal opinion it did feel a bit far fetched). I loved the fact that all of the characters had flaws and complexity that they acknowledged and tried to work on.

I personally wish that “Gris”‘s storyline would have gone a bit differently, he seemed too smart to be so naive over and over again. Overall I personally rate this book a 7 and half out of 10.
