Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “The Glass Spare” book number one in the “Glass Spare” doulogy by Lauren DeStefano.  I picked up this book in paperback edition from my local Barnes and Noble because it seemed interesting. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I personally enjoyed the setting and writing style for the most part; I really felt as though I was right there in the world along side the characters thanks to the writers description of setting/scene. I also personally liked the main character’s powers and her love for and commitment to trying to save her family.

I personally didn’t really understand how so many times after she was caught she was just allowed to be inside of the castles of people who were at some point(and in one case) still are her enemy or she was theirs. I also didn’t personally like how the curse was used in regards to the romantic plotline(I can’t really explain why without giving away major spoilers). Overall I personally rate this book a 6 out of 10. I will also be picking up the final book in the doulogy to see how everything ends.
