Book Review: The Game of Luck: Catherine Cerveny

Dear reader I just finished reading “The Game of Luck” book number 3 in the “Felicia Sevigny” series by Catherine Cerveny. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I had to know what happens next with the characters. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I want to start this review off by saying that I have talked to the author before on Twitter and I think that she’s very cool however I will still give my honest review of the book as I always have.

I will keep my review to brief summary of what I personally felt about the book whilst avoiding spefics due to the fact that this is the 3rd (and from what I personally remember) and final book in the series; in my personal opinion the vast majority of plot points in the book are spoilers in some form for the previous books in the series so I definitely recommend reading the other books beforehand/rereading them if nesscery to get all the different details of the series fresh in your mind before reading this because(in my personal opinion) this book doesn’t give you as much of a “recap” of the main plot line as some 3rd/final books in series do, I had to re-read a few paragraphs a few different times to remember what plot point was being tied up.
I do feel like the romantic relationship growth between the main characters was very believable and relatable(in my personal opinion) and satisfying for me personally as someone who was really “rooting for” them as a couple.
I do personally wish that we as readers could have gotten a few scenes at the end of the main character/her husband actually getting to enjoy their hard won(in my personal opinion) “happy ending”. *Spoiler alert read ahead at your own risk* I’m still mad that I as a reader didn’t get to “see”(so to speak) the baby after it being such a focus of the series(the main character’s desire to become a mom).

Overall I personally rate this book a 6 and a half out of 10 and the overall series an 8 out of 10 and I definitely recommend reading it if you like want a romance with sci-fi/futuristic space elements(most of which I personally found to be very realistic and believable. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
