Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “Mr Dickens and his Carol” by Samantha Silva. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it was on sale for $1.99 as part of Barnes and Noble’s Cyber Monday sale and because I wanted something to hopefully put me into the holidays spirit. My personal review of the book is as follows:

As someone who has always been curious about the backstory of “A Christmas Carol” (Yes, I know that this book is fictionalized version of a possible backstory as told by this author) I feel like the story as a whole gave me personally as a reader everything I was looking for going into it; even as much as as I was irritated with Dicken’s behavior towards his wife for the majority of the book.

I don’t want to say specifics on my thoughts about what happens as the majority of my thoughts are on plot points that are spoilers, I will say that I personally feel like you might want to go into this story willing to suspend disbelief more than you normally might.

The storyline as a whole gave me a lot of emotional feelings(I even literally teared up at the end which is something that I rarely do with books/movies, I tend to cry more at real life things).
