Book Review: Summer Hours At The Robbers Library: Sue Halpern

Dear reader I just finished reading “Summer Hours At The Robbers Library” by Sue Halpern. I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because it seemed interesting and it was on sale for $1.99 as part of a “Cyber Monday” sale. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I personally don’t normally enjoy(for lack of a better way of phrasing it) “slice of life” stories where the plotline doesn’t really seem to be a heavy focus (I can’t really explain why that applies in my personal opinion to this book specifically without giving away major plot spoilers) however the character’s stories pulled me in to the story and I cared about what happened to them even if(in my personal opinion) some of the the plotline seemed a bit too far fetched and unrealistic to me personally.

I think that if you go into the story and just focus on the characters and let the plot be second you’ll probably enjoy this book a lot more.

If you’re looking for a “slice of life” story about a small town, a library, and the people who live there as an escape from your life for awhile into theirs you should definitely give this book a chance.

Overall I think it’s a sweet story (it does have some darker moments/plotlines) and because of how much I liked the characters I’m rating this book a 6 out of 10. Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
