Book Review: American Royals: Katherine Mcgee

Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “American Royals” book number one in the American Royals” series by Katherine Mcgee.

I picked up this book in hardcover edition from my local Barnes and Noble because I am a sucker for books set within a parallel world from ours wherein history that we know turns out differently. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I personally found the writing style, setting, characters, and general overall storyline arc of the book to be believeable and realistic for the most part. I personally started to care for most of the characters towards the end of the book especially Beatrice and Samantha.

I did personally find some of the drama between certain characters(I am being vague to hopefully avoid spoilers) to be unnecessary and over the top, if you’ve read “The Thousandth Floor” by this same author and keep in mind the drama of that book I believe that you will see what I mean as this book has some of the same level of drama(in my personal opinion) within some of the the side plotlines.

Overall I personally rate this book an 8 out of 10 because of how much I liked the characters and how much I want to see what happens next with them. I also recommend checking out this book if you enjoy the CW TV Network series “Reign” this book gave me a lot of the same vibes in a more updated/current time line (still within the framework of our current time relatively speaking).. I do plan on reading the next book in the series whenever it’s released.

Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
