Book Review: The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo

Dear reader I just finished reading “The Light we Lost” by Jill Santopolo. I picked up this book from the Nook store on my tablet because I was able to listen to a preview of approximately the first 20 pages of it during an online event that the publisher held a few weeks before the book was published and I fell in love with it and I had to know what happens next. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I personally believe that this book is best experienced if you don’t know to much about it before hand as (in my personal opinion) almost everything that is revealed plot wise is a spoiler in some way of something past or future within the main storyline.

I am a big believer that books/stories have a way of “finding” readers at times in a readers life when they need them most and for me personally this book was no exception it helped me to come to terms with some of the lingering emotional issues that I still have with my ex husband/how I feel about our relationship.

I don’t think that I’ve ever felt as frustrated for a character or with some of the character’s choices (at different times within the storyline) as I have with “Jill”; I understand that some of it comes from hindsight as she’s talking about the past.

It felt as if I was holding my breathe for about the last 10 pages. This book made me fall in love with reading all over again. Overall I personally rate this book an 8 and a half out 10. Happy reading dear reader ?.  Please like and share this review if you like it doing so helps me to get considered by authorsand publishers for future books ♡.
