Book Review: The Darkest Minds: Alexandra Bracken

Dear reader I just finished reading “The Darkest Minds” book number one in the “Darkest Minds” series by Alexandria Bracken. I picked up this book in soft-cover edition from Barnes and Noble when I went to my local store with my dad. My personal review of the book is as follows:

For me personally the majority of the first half of the book was intense for me to read because of the situation the kids at the border. I do wish that more of the background of the disease that gives the kids their power would have been better explained(maybe it will be explained in further detail within the next book in the series). I also really enjoyed the strong bonds between the characters.

I personally feel the need to add a trigger warning that this book does have a none graphic rape/sexual assault scene in it towards the end of book just in case anyone has issues with reading the type of content.

Overall I personally rate this book a 7 and half out 10. I picked the second book in the series after I saw the movie based on the book. Click here to see my post on the differences between the book and the movie. Happy reading dear reader ☺. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get approved by publishers and authors for future books and helps others to find my reviews 💜.
