Dear reader I couldn’t sleep so I finished reading “Upright Women Wanted” by Sarah Gailey.
I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I am a sucker for books set within a Wild West type setting. My personal review of the book is as:
The writing style, setting, characters, and(for the most part) the main plot line felt in my personal opinion to be very believable and compelling. I am not a part of the LGBT community however I still felt that I understood where the characters were coming from for the most part.
I personally feel that if you like Wild West themed(the setting of the book is a dystopian, feels like a time frame about 10 – 20 years in the future from us in my personal opinion) “the handmaid’s tale” like Wild West where women as a whole still have more rights/freedom than in “a handmaid’s tale” type of world however the impressions I personally picked up were that the world of the book was heading/could go in that direction) books or female/non-binary(the non-binary character is a side character however they still feature pretty heavily in the story and get a lot of page time in my personal opinion) centered stories you should definitely give this book a chance.
I do want to say that it’s a short story, 176 pages in my Nook edition in case you are looking for a longer book for a plane trip or something you might want bring this one and another one. It took me a few days to finish it because of life stuff I have going on right now.
Overall I personally rate this book an 8 and a half out of 10 because of how much I liked the characters and the overall storyline arc.
Happy reading dear reader 😊. Please like and share this review if you enjoyed it doing so helps me to get future books and helps others to find my reviews 💟.
